Starttech Ventures announces its 1st Demo Day event

Starttech Ventures is hosting its first Demo Day event, to be held on Thursday 28th January, 6-9pm at its new incubation space.

The company has selected nine startup projects to be presented on the 1st Demo Day (#StartTechDemo1), including Tel Aviv-based Wake-App which will be showcased by its CEO Amir Isenberg, and the St. Petersburg, Russia-based startup Mailburn , which will also be presented by its CEO, Daniel Pavlyuchkov.

Starttech Ventures has recently invested in three different startups from outside of Greece, the aforementioned two and Take&Make, a startup that splits its activities between Tel Aviv and San Francisco. These investments are part of StartTech Ventures’ overall strategy aiming at the creation of tie-ins with prominent global entrepreneurial ecosystems.

The Demo Day 1 event is part of Starttech Ventures “side-car Angel Group” activities, aiming to promote curated co-investment opportunities in startups meeting its investment criteria to private investors.

Apart from startup pitches, Demo Day 1 will be featuring a presentation by Daniel Tomov, the co-founder of the Bulgarian accelerator and venture capital fund Eleven, a EIF partner which is among the biggest early stage investors in Central and Eastern Europe.

Manos Moschous of AbZorba Games and Athanasios Pappagelis of Epignosis will also be speaking about their experiences as the co-founders of their respective (StartTech Ventures-backed) companies, considered to be among the most successful in the Greek startup ecosystem.

Starttech Ventures is also pleased to announce its new strategic partnership with Compell.io, the Luxemburg-based company founded by Denis Avrilionis, that’s behind the eponymous innovative SaaS  platform for business modelling.

Compell.io’s “Business Model Canvas” modeling methodology will enable Starttech Ventures-backed companies to effectively formalize their business models from an early stage, offering them a well-defined way to verify or reject their business development scenarios. As Mr. Avrilionis put it, “Compell.io enables us to move from chance to science when it comes to startup growth.

[Starttech Ventures founder and CEO] Dimitris Tsingos, stated “Our vision is the creation of a strictly private investment fund for technology and software startups, including investors from both Greece and abroad, and combining funding with the provision of support, incubation and growth services, following the ‘entrepreneurial ecosystem’ model that Starttech Ventures” is based on“.

Starttech Ventures will be hosting their Demo Day events for selected investors, journalists, and other key business figures on a bi-annual basis.
