They say that no man is an island.

Well, no entrepreneur is one either. We all depend on each other, for helping developing further our shared markets (in our case, tech), influencing policy and fostering a better entrepreneurial landscape.

At StartTech, we have always strived to be more than an isolated investment and incubation firm ― an active participant in the Greek, EU and global entrepreneurial scenes, working alongside national governments, business organizations and other collective bodies. Dimitris Tsingos, our CEO and co-founder has pursued this vision as the (former) president of YES (the European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs), and a board member of EBAN (the European Business Angel Network).

We are also especially proud of the Greek startup scene (of which we’re among the earliest members), and always encourage any action and activity that will help promote entrepreneurship and startup values in the country.

Which is why we welcomed  [prominent startup news outlet] startupper.gr’s initiative to establish Startupper Awards, a new annual awards competition covering the Greek startup scene.

Invitation to the Startupper Awards ceremony (Orange Grove, Friday 18/3)

Organized as an independent event, without special interests, fine print and participation fees, the Startupper Awards is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Administrative Reform & E-Governance, the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and Hellenic Exchanges (EXAE), and with the support of ENDEAVOR Greece, the Hellenic Association of Mobile Applications Companies (HAMAC), the Hellenic Startup Association and Orange Grove.

StartTech Ventures has been a proud sponsor of this year’s Startupper Awards (alongside Interamerican, e-Food.gr and Yoleni).

There are 9 award categories whose winners were determined by open public voting, and a special award whose recipient will be revealed by the organizing committee during the award ceremony. Participation has been beyond expectations, with 120 competing startups and over 4400 votes.
