European Maritime Week

 

In the light of the European Maritime Week, which was established in May 2008 by the European Commission, and is held in Valletta, Malta this year, the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of the Department of Maritime Studies of the University of Piraeus organizes the “European Maritime Week” in cooperation with the European Parliament Office and the European Commission’s Representation Office in Athens Greece. 

The Conference will have the honor of hosting government representatives, market experts, academics and every relative stakeholder, so as to reflect all the aspects of the matter through a multidimensional approach. This year’s Conference is titled “European Maritime Week: Current Trends and Challenges Ahead” and will last four days having as a starting point Tuesday, 21st May 2013 and will take place in the heart of Athens, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Hall “I. Kranidiotis”.

Our CEO and President of the Hellenic Startups Association, Dimitris Tsingos, is invited to be panelist discussing “Innovation & New Economy”, on May 21st. Along with Dimitris Tsingos the panel for the debate will consist of Academics, Venture Capitalists and other representatives of organizations driving innovative solutions and entrepreneurship.

Pericles Nicolaos Ghikas (Peri Ghika) was born and raised in an agricultural family at the village of Kriekouki, in rural Attica, Greece.
